9. The Famous 'Sisters at Heart’ Episode

The 13th episode of the seventh season was titled “Sisters at Heart,” and it aired on Christmas Eve in 1970. The story idea and script were created by inner-city, African-American 10th graders from Jefferson High School in South Central Los Angeles. The episode revolves around two plot lines: Tabitha’s black school friend, whom she calls her “sister,” and Darrin’s interactions with a bigoted client who grows wary of working with Darrin when he thinks the African-American child is Darrin’s actual child, and thus the product of an interracial marriage.
